Looks like Germany go their asses kicked last night by Italy. That's too bad. That's life I guess. I like how I was watching CNN and one of my World Cup questions was magically answered. I had just been wondering "Hey what about Greece?" turns out Fifa is pissed at them because the government tries to get involved in running things or something. The end result is Greece is banned from the World Cup and really an soccer activity until the issue is fixed.

I'm really really really tired...I was up too late playing around on the internet, bad me bad! I'm glad today is just movie class. I like movie class. Too bad I've seen/own all the movies we watched...Spirited Away, bought that when it first came out, Water Boys saw the drama came to Japan bought the DVD, Shall We Dance, saw the US remake had no real desire to watch the movie, and now we shall watch Densha Otoko...yeah saw the drama and dled the movie. So yeah....every movie they decide watch I've seen

Looks like rain...I'd perfer it to rain after class when I'm happily back in my room. Uhg...need sleeeeeeeeep and money....though speaking of money...I guess I have $200 in my US back account and I asked mother dear to send me my bank card as I could use the $$, I could always use the $$.

Apr. 10th, 2006 @ 04:44 pm Takarazuka
Current Mood: content
Really I have to be crazy for doing this. So I've wanted to go see some Takarazuka and I really wanted to see the Rose of Versailles show. However the show is sold out, but there's always a way....the way just involved waking up early an lots of waiting. So on Saturday I put my plan into action! I woke up at 3:30 am...yes 3:30 am. I woke up that early so I could get the train at 4:58 so at about t 4am I took a bike ride to the station. I know this story already sounds so lovely doesn't it. So I get to the station and wait around for a bit and eat my "breakfast" and the catch the train. Now I was taking a new way to the theatre since the way I knew takes longer and I was going for speed. So I took the train to Ikebukuro and took the Yamanote line to Yuurakucho station, of course I actually missed the train and had to wait like 17 min I think for the next one whihc is crazy because that train runs like every second...damn early morning. I was actually pretty depressed when I missed the train because I thought I would have no chance to get a ticket becuase well there's only 49 same day tickets to be had and yeah....so I get to the station around 6:10 and head off to the Theatre, and of course I walk the wrong way for a few but I found out quickly. So I start in the other direction and feel kinda panicy because I had to figure where it was 'cause I had gone a diff way. So I find the way and almost pass the street I should turn down but OMG I had kanji skillls and say a sign that said Takarazuka in kanji soo hooray for knowing the kanji for Takarazuka and also the kanji for place haahaa so I made it I felt the excitment and worry as I turned the gone it was 6:20 and I was expecting disappoint....but wait! I saw the line and it was short! Short as in 8 people short! I hurried to the line of crazy people who had sleeping bags (well just 2 of them) and took my place as number 9! I felt trimuphant for hours. I guess I need to feel soemthing since it was 6:20 and the earliest tickets would be sold was 9:30....I needed something to get me through those hours of boredom as I brought nothing but my mp3 playing and was pretty tired. As I sat more and more people came. I think in the end there was over 60 but only 49 tickets. I also saw the stars arrive. It's really interesting to watch. I took some pictures of the stars for kicks and I took pics of the people and a little video too. It's defenitly an experience to see the fans. It was cool though I got my ticket and it was the best of the worst. I say best of the worst because the ticket was for a standing ticket sooooo this means you get to go stand on the second level behind the last row of seats for 3 hours. However I had ticket 9 which is in the middle section so it was therefore the best of the worst. Though really the ticket isn;t so bad. The standing wasn't bad at all really and with the rental of binoculars (or as they call them opera glasses (totally binaculars)) it's pretty good. It's be nice to be closer but the ticket was $15 (well less but rounding) so I can't complain really. The show was great as I knew it would be but I love Rose of Versailles so I guess I'm already kinda biased. I really liked it though some of the effects were amazing for theatre in my opnion and of course the singing was great. really it's amazing I'd have to reccomending going if you're in Japan. I'm probably crazy but um yeah I'm probably going to go to another show so I will be getting at 3:30 am sometime next month probably.

Now you'd probably think that when I got back at 5 it would be like nap time of just watch tv and do nothing until nap time but no. I had been invited to a party that night at 6:30 and I said I would go....so go I did. I was so tired, so very tired and I didn't feel like being there, yet I was there until 1:30am...I was almost up for 24 hours....I think I made it 23 hours before I finally was back in my room and able to sleep. I still didn't not sleep enough and I am tired. Really I planned to do nothing today other then look for my bike since it went missing at the station that day (apparently I parked it too early) buuuut things don't usually go as planned so instead Hitomi asked me if I was free and wanted to get dinner and so I went! We went out for shabu shabu and it was delicious! We went to this all you can eat place so it was worth the money because we ate a lot of meat and we only had to pay like $10 each so it was great. If I remember how to get there I would go again and take some of the others.

So tomorrow my plan is to sleep and them proceed to watch the DVD of the other Rose of Versailles show, perhaps finishing watching Oniisama he and oh yeah study for the placement test I have on a Tuesday. I'm not a big believer in crammer for a placement test buuut I need a refresher on some grammar points as I suck at them. So yeah yesterday was great but never ending and I'll deffenitly do it again.

And I'm blaming all typos on the fact that I wrote this when I was extremely tired and yeah I basically just copied and pasted this from my other journal

Apr. 4th, 2006 @ 11:12 pm Penis Festival
Well I was lazy before and didn't post anything about the penis festival other then pictures so here's a little blurb of stuff that happened an what not.

So me, Joanna, and Martyna left by bike to Minna Yono station at 8 in the morning so we could make it to Kawasaki to meet the rest of the Polish population in Japan (their friends) by 10 in Kawasaki. So we made it with little issues and spent some time waiting for those crazy Polish because they were late, for shame. When they got there we started to make our way to the shrine but we didn't know where it was...Lucky for us there was a tour guide with a group of foreigners (because like 80% of the people at the festival are foreign). So we followed like we were a part of the group and made it to the festival. We were a little surprised because we thought it was kinda bigger buuuut it was really kinda small. we quickly found the giant pink penis as it's huge and pink. So we walked around and looked at the few things like the daikon radishes being carved into penii, the random merchandise, and the over priced freaky suckers...there was a big line at the cheaper better looking suckers I guess, I never found them so yeah. So after looking around there was something with the kids doing something so we went and watch a kind of dance. After that we stood waiting since we had fairly good spots to see the next parts. So next was a lady/man I'm not sure doing some blessing or something to the giant penis (the black metal looking one). So they blessed the penis and then that started the walking around town with them. So we watched them get ready to go men, women, childern, and cross dressers getting ready to lift the huge things for a walk around town. It was pretty funny and I have some lovely video that I should upload. We proceeded to follow the parade and chase after the giant penii haahaa. So at some point during the chase some of the group cried for beer so we went in search. We went to family Mart and they had little beer as many people had the same urge to drink so we left and continued to walk going back towards the parade and I saved the day when I found a beer vending machine and there was much rejoicing amongst the Polish. So we followed the parade until it was gonna turn around so we turned back and went to another Shrine nearby on the way back and it was nice and penis free. So after eating and looking around we went back to the penis shrine to see if there was anything fun to buy and see if anything else would be happaneing. The only thing going on was some hula dancing and I found nothing fun to buy how sad. So that ended that. Afterwards we ended up going to Izakaya for drinks. I personally wanted to go back for I had enough as I was the only person who knows not a word of Polish (one other girl wasn't fluent but knew some)...so yeah most of the day was people talking in Polish whihc was kinda annoying. for a while my friends tried to encourage English speaking by answering in English but then gave up. So overall it was kinda boring for me to just be there with them. The other funny thing at the Izakaya was special because this crazy drunk Japanese lady that kept coming over and started to teach Japanese drinking songs and such it was pretty messed up and funny. So that ended the day I went back home and everyone else went back to someone's apartment. It sucked 'cause it was raining and I had to ride my bike in the rain ;_; how sad. And that is the quick recap of the Penis Festival yeeees.

And of course I have some pics...

Current Mood: lazy
I am really addicted to Takarazuka...I have yet to see anything beyond a video about it and random clips yet I find it facinating. I keep watching this clip I have from Elisabeth, it's amazing! I need to buy it, and I would have bought it already if I knew my address in kanji....but I don't so that makes ordering a little hard ^^;; Though maybe it's good that I didn't order because it's gonna set me back like $200 'cause every freakin' DVD costs $100 and if I'm gonna get one I might as well get 2 since I dunno shipping? I could always take a trip to the store by the theatre (dunno if I can go to the store in the theatre without a magic ticket for show...yes I fear messing up far too much), but that takes time and like lots of train fare. On another note I got Joanna interested enough that she wants to go see Rose of Versailles with me and is thus willing to wake up at the ass crack of dawn to wait in a line that doesn't garuntee a ticket, awesome. So much more amusing then waiting by myself. So yes That's all that's up with that...I mighta wrote about that already btu i forget since I have 2 journals right now so yeeeeees.

So today was another day that involved me doing nothing much. I did leave my room and go to Yamada Denki and the grocery store as I wanted something already cooked for lunch/dinner and of course I need drinks...never can buy enough drinks. I also bought some notecard things so I could make what I am calling manga vocab. I swear if I use my dictionary while reading it takes me forever because I end up looking up the same word like a million times! So since the manga I read are usually many volumes long I might as well make cards to accompany and thus make life easier and dare I saw I learn some new words.

I really need to do laundry tonight....I have no clean clothes, none at all....well I have a shirt that's clean...that's it though oh and 2 pairs of socks. That makes it all sound so much better XP So yeah I should go do that....and clean my room too it's pretty bad...yeeeeeah....

Oh and note to self go and buy South Park DVD Japanese dub will be hysterical!

Mar. 26th, 2006 @ 08:31 pm International Tokyo Anime Fair
Current Mood: tired
Today involved waking up nice and early to head out to the International Tokyo Anime Fair. I had no real idea how to get there nice I never went to the place it was at before. I really didn't know where I was going so it was an adventure much like my adventure to find the Takarazuka theater. But much like the other adventure it was not so hard to get to my destination. So I left at I left for the station at like 8:30 and got the 9:10 train to Tokyo. So I was their by 10:30 just waiting around for Dawn and the others to get there since we were suppossed to meet. They got there a bit later like 11:30-ish. The fair itself was kinda lame. It had it's moments like the Nana room (or closet as Gene likes to call it) and the blow-ups all around the place. Looked pretty cool, lots of eye-candy but the "fair" was really lacking. The goods area was like the worst thing ever, it sucked hard core. I still bought some stuff 'cause I love the Prinees (purini in Japanese romanized) from Disgea silly Penguin like things. I bought a shirt and a mug and I was pleased fora few minutes. Picked up a lot of free crap too, very crappy crap. So it was a way to kill a day I guess.

I still wanna go to the Rose of Versailles Takazukara thing!!! I dunno if I could possible get their early enough to get a standing room ticket though....I might try again but that means catching the first train at 6 so that means leaving by 5 to get to the bus and stuff. I wonder if there's an unbusy day? I guess I'll have to play 20 questions with a friend later and see if she knows anything about it and if not perhaps bug my host mom. If I can't see Rose of Versailles live I will probably buy a DVD but I also will try to go to a different show. I'd really like to see something, so I plan to do so. I really wanna make the most of my time. Tomorrow I will do nothing and pending on if I get my call to go look at the Cherry Blossoms I just may go to the Zoo.

Mar. 25th, 2006 @ 08:30 pm So tiiiiiired
Current Mood: exhausted
So yeah last night I was looking around the net and looked up some Rose of Versailles stuff. I knew there was a play (takarazuka to be exact) and I was looking for info on it and suddnely I found that it's currently playing! Well hot damn I wanna go! But alas I do believe it's sold out (those fans are crazy you know). Though even with it being sold out it's still possible to go. One way involves going insanely early to buy a ticket that's about $15 to stand in the very back for 3 hours. That's the cheapest way and maybe the best however I think to achieve this I have to leave my room by 5 am catch the first train and it'll get me tgo the location at about 8. I think to really have a good shot you should go at like 7 but that's like impossible since the first train is at 6...so it'd probably take about an hour and a half to 2 hours. Took me around 2 hours to get there today. I failed at getting a ticket but learned the theatre was pretty easy to get to. I wanna try to go so I might attempt that plan again. Appaerently there's a bunch of people who "scalp" their tickets though I wouldn't really call it scalping for the people don't charge more then they paid usualy. This would be a good plan if I could find said people but no. The final option is Yahoo auctions Japan. I think I perfer the helluva cheap way since the yahoo ones are a bit pricey. So I'll pick a day and try again. I still really wanna see Rose of Versailles I'd also like to see a Takarazuka show in general pretty neat stuff really.

So yeah this has made me tired....tomorrow I'm suppossed to meet friends at Big Sight for an anime thing. I figured out how to get to Big Sight however I have no idea where I am meeting anyone....it's a flawed plan, we'll see how that goes. defenitly not stay up late since I wanna leave early....like 8:30-9 something like that so I end up at big sight around the same time as the others plan to get there at. Need more money....my suica card is low so I need to put more on it....curse me and my money spending.

Well that's life. If anyone happens to randomly read this (really feeling like I'm talking to myself sicne I never mentioned I plan to move my journal to this one...one day, one day) and knows a good way to get Takarazuka tickets let me know.

Current Mood: headache
Yeeeesss....so teaching today. Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaah it was special. So apparently I was to teach two 7 year old girls. So yeah I wasn't allowed to use any Japanese at all and the book I used sucked because it was just english. You need the Japanese translation really. So they knew next to nothing. Like they could read a little but I don't think they understood what anything meant. The could introduce themselves that's about it. It pretty much sucked. Next I had a conversation class thing with one lady. It went well and all was good. So I guess I get paid for today on the 10th which is kinda gay. I have no idea if this lady expects me to teach there again 'cause she didn't say anything so yeah I think it was just today. I don't really think I'd want to work at that place anyway. Though not it makes me worry about my up coming job....I guess I need to research some games or soemthing that I can do to teach with or something. I think the job that I will soon have is not me teaching alone but with a Japanese teacher which would be fine but yeah today kinda sucked ass.

Mar. 22nd, 2006 @ 11:40 pm Laaaaaaaaaazy day
Current Mood: lazy
Yeah very lazy day. I didn't wake up until 12 and then I didn't leave my room until 4. That's pretty lazy. Oh well tomorrow I need to be less lazy and pay my internet bill and send a letter. I guess I'm going to be doing some comversation teaching tomorrow. My friend (well kinda) gave me a call asking me if I could help him. I guess he just got back from his Asian adventure today and his boss decided to have him work tomorrow but yeah I imagine he's tired and doesn't want to or something. So I will spend an hour of my time and make 2,000 yen to speak English. So that's fine 3-4 it's all good. I guess prep for when my job starts next month.

I still need to go to the Zoo...I will go, I wiiiiiill!!!! I played a bunch of Kingdom Hearts today and was reminded of why I hate the damn cave of wonders. I like how the game is like a million times easier then when i played before....and this is why we should all level...leveling is a good thing. I'm at level 24-25 and only at the Cave of Wonders...made all those damn bosses so much easier I didn't die once on a boss.

Was reading some Rose of Versailles. I love it so...everyone should go watch it or go buy the manga. Basically if you like Revolutionary Girl Utena you'll probably kinda like it. It's said to be the pre-Utena but it's really different but it's awesome.

Mar. 21st, 2006 @ 11:07 pm The first day of spring...
Current Mood: tired
Today is the first day of spring...apparently in Japan the first day of spring warrents the closing of atms and such. Why is the first day of spring a holiday?! Not fair!!! Well good thing I didn't go to the zoo today...I woulda been even more pissed since it would have been closed! Gah I really needed the atm today and I really didn't wanna have to pay to use an atm and I really didn't wanna take money from my US account but yeah...you know I had about $20 on me and was going out in Tokyo so um yeaaaaaaah.

So anyway went to the Mexican restaurant and for some reason they weren't doing the lunch specials...bastards. It was still good though and now I know where it is without doubt so I can take people. Hooray for Mexican restaurant that is cheap and has huge drinks that get refills hooray!

So after running around with Ayako in Korea town (haahaa we passed host clubs) she had to get going. It was still early so I stayed in Tokyo. Took a trip to Kinokuniya and I found no learn Japanese books that I wanted. So I ended up looking at managa to see if I could find Rose of Verssailes and I didn't see it. Finally on my way out I was looking at some random toys and wouldn't you know, on one side it had rose of Versailles stuff such as the managa (reprint), artbook, something from the musical (they look creeeeeepy!!!!) and some random stuff. I was happy. I bought a few things and it was kinda pricey but yeah. I will check Book Market and Book Off before I buy the rest of the manga but I felt the urge to at least buy one volume. So hooray!

Unfair is ending today....watching the end of the episode right now....I'm sad I'll miss watching Unfair. It was a fun drama that twisted and turned so much. I can't believe the show, really....love it so much with all of it's crazy crap. You should watch it if you haven't already, it's great. So I guess in a few mine I will watch Densha Otoko the movie for it finished downloading and I really want to seeeeee it.

So yeah that's all for nooooow. I'll have a loely picture or two later when i get unlazy and upload things off my camera...currently I'm dead tired, t'was a long day. I still say...OMGWTF stoooopid holiday! The first day of Spring is not a holiday! I do not accept it being a holiday!

Current Mood: cheerful
Well the zoo will wait for antoher day! Just so happens Ayako is going to be around and she has no part time job tomorrow soooo that means play time! Hooray! The plan is to meet at 12:30 and head to this awesome Mexican restaurant. I think we are also going to go to Korea Town, I don't remember where else but somewhere. It'll be nice. I'll miss seeing Ayako all the time. Even though she's busy she'd always make time to come visit and hang out. Soon she will be in Osaka...though I plan to visit her.

Oh well today was fun saw Ayako and Tenshi and we had lunch and some odd conversations in Japanese that I had slight grasps on...my Japanese isn't all the great but yeah...kinda crazy convo...it was about if we believed in fate or not...was pretty complex kinda odd really. I find it funny that we were having a conversation like that in McDonald's haahaa. So yeah after that Tenshi left and Ayako came to my room for a bit and I gave her some CD's I burned for her and she gave me stuff from Korea sicne she went. We started to read some manga because I keep everyone current with things like Nana. Good times.

Other then that I finally finished Rose of Versailles...wow that show ends on such a low note...not that it could ever end on a high note since it envolves the French Revolution (with added made up history) and the deaths of the royal family that you learn to love in the show. Really it's one of those all the main characters die show. Still I love it...really I do. Maybe I love because it plays out like a drama...not much like a Japanese drama though, plays out like a Korean drama. They have all the elements forbidden love (times like 100), sad love, pain, misery, evil bitches. You know all that fun that's in every Korean drama. Love it. Still need to find the manga...they didn't have it at Book Market whihc doesn't surprise me because it's really old...like from the 70's so I wonder if I will find it at all. I don't really wanna pay a lot. I want it cheap!

Mar. 20th, 2006 @ 01:08 am Spring Break
Current Mood: bored
You know I love spring break here. In America we get what, a week? Haahaa yeah I have over a month off. It's kinda great but then again you run out of things to do. Currently I'm so bored...I want to go to class haahaa. It's hard to stay occupied on limited amounts of money. Sure you can take trips to other parts of Japan, and yeah of course I did but it gets expensive. Maybe lack of money is the world's way of tell me to study more? Who knows. Though I have decided I need to study more. I'm finding that watching Japanese movies with the subtitles is kinda good. Sometimes you really miss a lot when they talk. I think Nana the movie is the movie I've had the most problems with. They talk fast and lots of slang or dialect or something. I have the hardest time understanding anything in that movie. It sucks too because I was looking at the fansubs for it and it was like "...omg." Some of the lines were so basic but yeah. Subs help....if I was really motivated when I watched it pausing and looking up some of the vocab would be good but ya know when i watch a movie I kinda just want to watch. I need to start nit picking when I watch though. I do that a lot with manga too. Usually if I read any it takes me like an hour to read a few pages because of all the new vocabulary. Too bad I can't instantly remember the words I look up...haahaa wouldn't that be great to not look up the same word a dozen times and for get the next second? I think I should make some flashcards and label them by which manga they are found in. Use the cards as I attempt to read (and well using them as flashcards and dare I say learn the words as well).

Me and Japanese....we have a special relationship. One second it makes me happy and the next it crushes me with it's brutalness. Oh well I love it anyway.

So plans for today really don't involve much...go to the used book store and buy Rose of Versailles. I've been watching the anime recently (as I saw it on tv last week) and I remembered why I love it so. Somehow I think it won't be a horribly hard read and will probably help me learn more of the polite forms if the dialog is anything like the anime. It's just keigo heaven in that thing. I guess that's to be expected when something takes place in the courts of France and involves the King and Queen. Gotta love the made up history they use in it though, it's classic. Should also probably clean my room more as I should be seeing Ayako tomorrow and yeaaaaah can't have her come to my messy messy room so clean I must! it'll be nice to see her though...gonna be seeing a lot less of her since she's going to be moving to Osaka for her job.

Plans for the near future...Go to the Ueno Park Zooooooo!!! I wanna see the Pandas. I'd go tomorrow buuuut it's closed on Monday so I think I shall plan to go on Tuesday! The we can all be blessed with pictures of animals. So yeah I think I will call that my plan and see how it goes from there. I would love to see some friends or something. I feel stupid not being able to use much Japanese right now....2 reason for that one being that I suck and the other being that all the Japanese people are know are else where. Really could use so more friends here.

I find it kinda hard to believe that I wrote so much and it's all about nothing. Amazing.
